CogniView PDF2XL is an application that converts tables from acrobat documents (pdf) to fully editable tables in several formats: Word (doc), Excel (xls), Openoffice (ods), or simple comma separated values (csv). You can also just copy the data to the clipboard and paste it in Excel, Word, or other application. It is one of the few fully updated and functional programs that accomplishes such a task.
The application detects rows and columns automatically, allowing the user to fine adjust every selection. The user interface is intuitive and you can see the data you are converting, and the converted results. Any change is immediately seen on the preview, allowing for a very transparent process. Usually you will not need to do any changes, as the normal functioning of the program is quite good and effective.
You can select several pages, with the same headers, and so convert a larger table. If you are working with a scanned version of a document, the application will detect that and offer to download the OCR version (trial) from CogniView, which can handle that type of files. You can check if your pdf was scanned by opening it and selecting the text. If it is selected and pasted to another program as image, it was scanned.
